The Rhythm Dogs are New York's City's premier dance and wedding dance band specializing in Motown, Soul, Swing, Rock, Reggae, and Contemporary Dance Music. Co-founded by Joe Damone and Peter Brown, the band is comprised of well-established musicians. Artists ranging from Aretha Franklin to Alicia Keys have tapped the talents of this grooving outfit. Clearly, this is not just another wedding dance band.
The Rhythm Dogs dance band originated in the Greenwich Village area of New York City. There they performed at the most renowned and legendary clubs in the area, such as: CBGB's, The Cafe Wha, The Bottom Line, Kenny's Castaways, The Bitter End, The Village Gate, The Other End, Preachers, Nell's, Le Bar Bat, The Front, Terra Blues, Sweet Basil, etc. It was out of these venues that The Rhythm Dogs were first contracted to play at private parties and corporate events, weddings, trade shows, reunions, anniversaries, birthday parties, sales meetings, and holiday parties. These events took them all over the tri-state area: New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
For many years The Rhythm Dogs were the main attraction in Saratoga, New York, celebrating the opening of the Saratoga Race track. They performed regularly at private and corporate events in Newport, Rhode Island, Martha's Vineyard, Roxbury, New York, Cape Cod, Nantucket, The Hamptons, Long Island, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was inevitable that they would be asked to perform nationally and internationally. They appeared at The Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, California. They also toured the West Coast, which included stops in San Diego, San Francisco, Palm Springs, Santa Catalina Island, and Newport Beach, California. They've been as far south as the Florida Keys and Acapulco, Mexico, west to Maui, Hawaii, east to Rome, Italy, and north to Quebec, Canada. They continue to please crowds worldwide and are available at surprisingly affordable prices.
"We thank you! All night long, people came up and told us how great the music was, and how versatile and perfectly programmed you guys were. The music was a gigantic part of the evening's success! Having Gary sit in was one of the best moments of all. Many thanks, Peter."

"I wanted to thank you all for your help in making Jessica's wedding celebration a big success. What a pleasure to watch real professionals in action. Having played many wedding receptions myself over the last forty years I know how unpredictable they can be. You made it look easy and did it right. Pass my regards to the players. You guys were the best. Feel free to use me as a reference."
--Keith Heckman
"Thank you. You guys did an amazing job. Many commented on how good and fitting the music was for the evening. I don’t think there was ever a moment when the dance floor was not packed. Thank you and please thank Joe again for us. Please let us know if we can provide any recommendations or testimonials for others."
